Question 1

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

Accepted Answer

ChatGPT doesn’t remember your cards between chats, doesn’t have live reward-category rules (issuers change these quarterly), and isn’t with you at checkout. TapWizz knows your wallet and gives you the answer the moment you need it, no re-explaining your cards every time.

Question 2

Is my card data safe?

Accepted Answer

We never ask for card numbers, PINs or bank logins. TapWizz only needs to know which cards you carry, like “Amex Gold”. Your data is encrypted, stored with our US-based providers, and never sold or shared with card issuers or advertisers. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Question 3

When will I get my invite?

Accepted Answer

We review every signup personally and reach out to select early testers with an invite. You can check your status anytime from the home page.

Question 4

Which cards does TapWizz support?

Accepted Answer

For now, US-issued credit cards, mostly Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We’re adding more cards and issuers as the beta grows.

Question 5

How do lock-screen alerts know where I am?

Accepted Answer

Only if you turn them on. In Settings, you can allow TapWizz to check your location in the background, using the location updates Apple gives apps, so it can alert you with the best card when you arrive at a store. Prefer not to share your location in the background? Just open the app at checkout and TapWizz will use your current location to show the best card right then.

Question 6

Does TapWizz work outside the US?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. TapWizz supports US cards only for now.

Question 7

Where do your numbers come from?

Accepted Answer

Our homepage figures are industry estimates. $650+ a year in potential card rewards comes from The Motley Fool Ascent, and ~70% of cardholders holding unused rewards comes from CNBC Select.
